Full course description

Welcome to the MCAT/DAT/GRE H.E.A.T. platform! Many of you are anticipating applying to medical, dental and graduate school programs in the near future.
One of the key requirements for application to medical, dental and graduate programs are the three standardized examinations---the Medical College Admissions Test (MCAT), the Dental Admissions Test (DAT) and the Graduate Record Examination (GRE). In order to assist you with your test preparation, this platform has been developed to provide you with exposure to sample exam questions*, test strategies, advisement webinars and matriculating health professions and biomedical science student testimonials.

The concept for the MCAT/DAT/GRE H.E.A.T. originated from the first Empower Conference. This initiative, launched in 2016 and hosted by the four HBCU medical schools (Charles R. Drew University of Medicine and Science, Howard University College of Medicine, Meharry Medical College and Morehouse School of Medicine), addressed the decline of HBCU graduates applying to health and science programs. Empower 2016 also stressed the proactive leadership essential to improving the HBCU health and science applicant pool. This initiative continues in 2017 as Empower2 and highlights the opportunity to influence pre-health and pre-graduate training and education, and create an alliance between HBCUs and those who advise students who are underrepresented in STEM disciplines.
